Insurance and Financial Information

Accepted Insurance:

For your convenience, Raleigh Skin Surgery Center, pllc participates with the most major insurance companies. Our staff will gladly assist you with any questions or concerns that you may have about your account; however, we recommend checking with your insurance company prior to making an appointment to determine if your visit will be covered.
Raleigh Skin Surgery Center participates with the following insurance companies:
  • Aetna (most plans)
  • BCBS (NOT Blue Local or Blue Value)
  • Coventry/Wellpath (NOT the Duke plans)
  • Humana (NOT the HMO)
  • Cigna (NOT Cigna Connect)
  • Tricare Standard
  • Medicare
  • United Healthcare
  • Medcost
We do accept several other insurance companies, so please call the number on the back of your insurance card if your plan is not listed above.


Financial Policy:

Our office participates with most of the major insurance companies. Even though we may participate with an insurance company, patients still have certain responsibilities. Please contact our office if you have any questions concerning our financial policies.
Patients are responsible for:
  • Understanding the basic requirements of his or her insurance policy.
  • Obtaining a referral from the primary care physician if a referral is required before a patient can be seen by a specialist.
  • Paying any co-pay, unmet deductible, or co-insurance at the time of the visit.
  • Bringing a current insurance card and ID card to each visit. If a patient comes into the office without his or her insurance card, they will be responsible for the full payment of that day's charges.
  • Notifying our office of any change in insurance coverage. If the insurance company has changed or the patient has received a new card from the same insurance company, our office must be notified.
  • Cancellations: Cancellations made with less than 2 business days notice may be subject to a Surgical Cancellation Fee of $100.00.
  • Medical Records: We reserve the right to charge for medical record requests in accordance with the fee structure as set forth in the North Carolina state statute. You will be responsible for paying this fee prior to mailing or pick-up of these records.
